The federal stimulus is beginning to provide some help for the economy. Approximately 50 million square feet of public buildings are under construction in an average year. Courthouses, detention centers and military base projects are a few examples of the expertise IES offers in building government facilities.

USNA Preble Hall Renovation
Annapolis, MD
50,000 square foot five-story complete renovation of the Museum Building at the United States Naval Academy. This work included decorative lighting, extensive lighting controls, normal and emergency power including medium-voltage work, telecommunications and security systems.
VMI Old & New Barracks/ Nielsen Construction
Lexington, VA
122,000 square foot project included renovations and additions to some of the older cadet barracks at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA. This included new lighting, outlets and computer connections for all of the cadet rooms and the revamping of the campus armory and commandant's barracks.
Oceana Naval Air Station
Virginia Beach, VA
Facilities Upgrades for F/A-18 and Hangar 500 Renovation - This project included renovation of 190,000 square foot aircraft hangar, adding three 6,000 square foot SCIF Buildings and installing Super Flight Line Electrical Distribution Systems (SFLEDS) on the aircraft apron. The installation of the SFLEDS required adding a medium voltage substation complete with manholes and concrete duct bank for power distribution to each of the SFLEDS on the aircraft apron.
USAMRIID
Frederick, MD
One million square foot combination laboratory and office space. This is a replacement facility for the US Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Disease. This project includes BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 lab space.
