Our Safety Record

IES recognizes that project productivity is directly correlated to safety performance. One accident or injury can cause schedule delays, hard and soft cost increases and cause you to miss your deadlines. More importantly, injuries to precious human assets are not acceptable to IES, their families or our customers.

As part of our program, IES employees receive extensive safety training before starting work and also receive project specific safety orientation at the jobsite.

Our internal Safety Performance Index (SPI) combines five key safety measurements to continuously assess our performance and ensure improvement. Safety is not a slogan at IES, it is imbedded into our culture.  And, the industry has recognized our efforts.

Experience Modification Ratio (EMR)

EMR reflects overall safety record and is applied to a company's insurance premium. The industry average is 1.0. A lower EMR means fewer accidents and a lower cost of insurance.
